Before I could even talk, my passion for great, flavorful, multi-ethnic food was apparent. My parents have told me about the sparkle I would get in my eyes, and gleeful noises I would make, when eating my most favorite delicious foods as a baby (something that is still very much alive in me to this day).
Traveling around the world to meet and eat with my soul family has been one of my main goals since college. Aside from being a total foodie (eating good food is the best thing ever!), my other favorite things on the planet are kindness and positivity. The loving presence of my family, friends, partner, community, and my cat makes me feel so fortunate and rich in love! My ukulele and culinary skills are used to raise vibrations and create smiles. Food is my zen practice and happy place. Finding a healthy diet has been monumental in my life, especially during college, where the stress and toxicity was really taking its toll on me. Fresh and clean eating helped me look and feel my very best, so I want to share this form of delicious self-love with those around me and beyond. My mom is an absolutely amazing cook (just like her mom, and her mom, and her mom were), so I got to eat some of the best Vietnamese food ever growing up. The first decade of my life, I had many tasty memories living amongst a vibrantly diverse Southern California food scene. Eating foods from all different backgrounds, prepared with love, homegrown ingredients, and a skillful mastery that you can see and taste, got me hooked on above average foods. In addition to coming from a long line of serious home chefs, my extensive knowledge of food also comes from working next to many talented cooks, learning from top tv chefs, and throwing many food parties in college. My hopes for a better world, love for the perfect bite, the constant learning of new recipes, having a background in all things art, and my special sense of taste (owner of an insanely high taste bud count over here), has prepared me for carrying out Foodie Sattva's vision. My food has been a topic of discussion in my small little town, and it has gotten me many private cooking gigs when people hear about the gorgeous and exquisite foods I make. Everything is so remote here in Crestone, and there are a lot of dishes that are not available anywhere nearby. Foodie Sattva would provide a lot of hard-to-find options that would satisfy all taste buds as well as cater to a community that has a lot of health conscious and plant-based eaters. Every purchase would be goodness for the consumer, and in the bigger picture, be better for the planet and community. This website will eventually host all the musings of Foodie Sattva, so stay tuned! Featured will be thoughts on food, recipes, and updates on which community projects are being supported through our profits and donations. I am always wishing everyone a lovely, peaceful, and delicious life! Thank you very much for taking the time to read a lot about me, much appreciation and love to you! |
